After to Post Office we headed into the hill country of the Louberon. We stopped at several scenic Medieval towns located high on cliffs. We had lunch at a lovely restaurant in Menerbes, over-looking a scenic valley with vineyards, etc. I had Salade Nichoise, and wine, of course, and Cheryl had cous cous with vegetable, lamb, chicken, sausage. Tres manifique!
After our excursion we had dinner at the B&B (Mas du Petit Grava) with our hosts, packed and went to bed.
Wednesday 9/15: Our host, Jim, drove us to the train station in Arles at 7 AM. We took the 8:10 train to Marseilles, then on to Nice, Monte Carlo, and Ventimiglia. We changed trains in each of those places and enjoyed our first Italian meal in the Ventimiglia train station. Even train station food is good. I had my first Chianti of the trip. Cheryl had her 27th Coke and a little Chianti. We will be changing again in Genova to reach our final destination of Monterosso al Mare in Cinque Terre. I think we may actually make it! The train trip has been arduous but very beautiful. We have followed to coast of the Cote 'd Azur (The Riviera). We saw Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monte Carlo and a few more. The Mediterranean is beautiful. It's very blue and glitters.
Note from Cheryl: Susan has had way more wine than I have had Coke!
